Mitchum Jewelers

Ozark, Missouri

This expansive project resulted in a larger showroom, additional office space, a vault, a client consultation room, and guest restroom. Inside, you will find the latest trends in jewelry store design and technology. Together with the interior remodel, the entry was revamped, including new back-lit LED metal signage. Guests enter the store beneath a unique new cladding material—a rainscreen wood system called Machiche (Machee-chay) which is a long-lasting Brazilian hardwood.

Since re-opening, Mitchum Jewelers has seen a huge spike in foot traffic as well as sales. With the additional space, they’ve been able to grow their staff, introduce new lines of jewelry, and are enjoying new flexibility in how they showcase products and interact with customers.

Then & Now

Having outgrown the Mitchum Jewelers space, owner Randy Mitchum chose TDP to expand and renovate the store with a fresh and modern look. It was very important to Randy to honor the history of the store along with his father, John, as he was the original business owner—opening the original store in 1965.

Top Honors from INSTORE Magazine

Mitchum Jewelers was named one of America’s Coolest Jewelry Stores by INSTORE Magazine, a trusted trade publication. The store ranked in the top 8 stores across the country in 2019, receiving high marks for interior design.

BeforeAfter

“I am beyond delighted to have partnered with Torgerson Design Partners. Working with their team has been amazing! From beginning to end, TDP was extremely involved and worked efficiently to make sure I was happy and that the project stayed on course. I was surprised and appreciative of how involved TDP was during the bid process and all throughout construction.”
